Fire and Ice

This is my ode to Pat Benatar's Fire and Ice, because I love the 80's.

I snagged myself a new treasury in the big house! It always makes my day when I get to curate a collection of beautiful Etsy goodies.
Here is my super-fab treasury...

Rain on a 3 day weekend

Friday is finally here and the rain is kicking off the 3 day Memorial day weekend. I'm not going to complain, because San Diego really needs all the rain she can get.

We can always count on the sun here, so the rain is actually a nice change of scenery. Instead of soaking up the rays - I am bundled up, sipping a mug of hot tea and listing a new pair a vintage/old Hollywood inspired earrings. So pretty!

I had a really hard time parting with this pair and hopefully I can find more of the dark garnet beads I used, otherwise this pair will have to be a one of a kind. I just love the combination of dark garnet Czech glass and smoky topaz Swarovski crystal beads.

I hope everyone has a super fantastic weekend, rain or shine. Whatever you find yourself doing - have tons of fun and be safe.

I know, it has been a really long time

Alright, I know it has been forever since my last post. I have been spending most of my time with my dad, who is doing GREAT by the way.

I did find some time to list a few new necklaces that I have been working on. They are simple, sparkly and perfect for summer!

They are cosmically inspired and hang in orbit around your neck like your own little star or planet.

So far, I have them in green and clear but I can make one in any color you like.

Personal post time

I haven't been really personal on this blog yet, but the appropriate time has come.

My dad, who is a truly amazing and remarkable person has been waiting for a kidney transplant for several years. We were all getting pretty desperate and knew that he really needed a transplant soon.

This Wednesday, April 30th my dad received the most wonderful gift - a new lease on life. His transplant was a success and he is doing surprisingly well for a person who just had major surgery 2 days ago. He won't be out of the dark for 3 months, but will just be taking everything one day at a time.

I am beyond happy for him and my family. I am so happy for myself too - for every selfish reason that I can think of. I have my dad for another day and he is happier and healthier today than he has been in so many years.

I am so grateful for this completely surreal and strange experience. I can't even really begin to describe the insurmountable emotions we have all experienced. I want to relish every moment and celebrate my dad every second of the day.

My dad is such a brave man and I can't wait for what life has in store for his future.

My dad is the jumper on the right. He feels this good again and it just doesn't get any better. Hooray!
